Super Mario Run Surpasses 78M Downloads with $53M in Revenue
The Wall Street Journal has reported that the Japanese game-maker runs past 78 million downloads with the launch of Super Mario Run, stacking up more than US$53 million in revenue and counting. As Super Mario Run is available for free download, almost 5 percent of the total users have selected for the $10 charge that provides an access to unlock the game modes and other features.
Earlier, Nintendo gathered maximum profits with the smash-hit success of mobile sensation Pokemon Go and the company benchmarked its success with the launch of Super Mario Run in December, gathering almost 40 million downloads within 4 days of its launch.
Mario Run is projected to see a sky-high surge with maximum downloads as the Japanese game maker company has planned to bring the super-hit game on Android later this March. The company launched an ‘Easy Mode’ update for Super Mario Run on Tuesday that ends up annoying time limits and offer unlimited bubbles to the players so that the users can easily complete the level.
The gaming heavyweight Nintendo has also confirmed to launch its Switch on March 3, 2017. Nintendo’s online store also crashed while getting pre-orders of the game. Major E-commerce websites including Amazon Japan ended their console selling online quota while accepting its pre-orders, right within fifteen minutes.
