Official Launch of Honda City 2017 in Pakistan
Honda Launched New City 2017 Model in Pakistan
Honda City displays evident improvements with its international model for 2017, which made us believe that the car producer might just carry the new model to Pakistan in contempt of the escalating competition. With City 2017, Honda shattered our anticipations and any probability of the current three car companies changing their strategies and or caring about customer satisfaction.
Over the last few years, City has cemented its position as the go-to compact sedan of Pakistan. It seems evident that Honda intends on riding the car’s reputation until the brand is forced to bring in appropriate features in the base models.
Last night, Honda Atlas Pakistan brought to light the new City with no aforementioned notice or declaration. The automobile was unveiled at an exhibition at Faletti’s Hotel Lahore which Honda’s employees and distributors graced with their presence.
Honda seemed to be very proud of its accomplishments over the past year. While inaugurating the automobile, President of Honda Atlas, Tochi Ishiyama, said,
‘’We extend extreme gratitude to our customers, as they have stayed loyal to Honda and more specifically appreciated Honda City for the past twenty years. This ceremony does not only highlight the 20-year milestone of Honda City in Pakistan, but it also serves as a testimonial to the success of Honda in Pakistan.’’
Here’s a look at what the new Pakistani City variant has to offer and if the public’s discontent is defensible:
In comparison to last year’s Honda City, there seem to be minor amends to the car’s design. The mainly evident change is the new face grill in a black and chrome color combination.
The rear lights and reflectors also seem to have gone under a minor change.
However, Honda has introduced some new door safety moldings which affix more personality to the automobile and protect it from minor dents. In comparison to last year, new color options have been made accessible by the company. The car would be available in the following colors:
City’s interior has shows now major changes and remains to be the same as last year except a small number of trifling changes. The older entertainment system has been changed with a new-fangled capacitive touch-based multimedia infotainment system but it is noteworthy that It’s not a touchscreen display.
Everything else is the same, some unchanged old-fashioned AC knobs with an analog speedometer with blue tones.
Another change is the new fabrics that the seats use now though it’s a minor change and totally negligible.
Engines & Performance
Honda City 2017 will have 3 variants with both manual and automatic transmission options:
- 3L Base
- 3L Aspire
- 5L Aspire
Like last year, the 1,339CC sedan offers a 5 speed manual or automatic transmission. The 16 valve 4-cylinder engine is competent enough to provide 73kW of horsepower at 6,000RPM and 128Nm at 4,800RPM.
With the use of default 15-inch tires, a turning radius of 5.3 meters is achievable.
Safety & Security
A new safety feature which Honda has introduced is the immobilizer option with the City 2017, although it doesn’t came as standard and buyers have to opt for it by paying extra. The immobilizer device thwarts the vehicle from igniting the engine unless an RF immobilizer key is present. The feature was made obligatory under the Auto Policy 2016-2021.
ABS brakes and crash attuned design come as standard features.
City 2017 has an issued warranty period of 3 years or 70,000km (whichever ends first).
Price & Availability
Luckily, Honda hasn’t raised the price bar much for the new model. A small increase of Rs. 10,000 brings about the following final prices:
