CPEC to Create 2.32 Million Jobs Within Next 2 Years
Pakistan is expecting a major cut in unemployment within next two years, as CPEC will create 2.32 Million Job opportunities with the activation of CPEC related projects, according to a report published in Global Times, a Chinese newspaper. Job opportunities are projected with the development of Special Economic Zones (SEZs) under the CPEC, that will also interlink the country into global production chains.
The 6th Joint Cooperation Committee (JCC) meeting between China and Pakistan for analyzing CPEC related projects concluded last week in Beijing. Various new projects for all the provinces were included in the CPEC framework, said the report.
The majority of think tanks believe that the CPEC project will boost the economy of Pakistan and will facilitate the population of the country. Therefore, it is mandatory to implement certain measures for the development of CPEC related projects to benefit more people.
As the project is complicated to be implemented due to regional disputes, the mega project CPEC could still flourish the local economy and will create new jobs for the unemployed youth of Pakistan. So far, CPEC is advancing at a tremendous pace but also has faced criticism in the country over project distribution between the provinces. Such disputes create the motivation to fight for gaining major projects within respective provinces. On the other hand, it affects the overall process of development.
CPEC must be a key priority for the whole nation of Pakistan as it will develop the country and one must think beyond their own personal interest to work side by side for the implementation of the mega project. Major Foreign Direct Investments (FDIs) are projected to flourish the economy of Pakistan under CPEC that will also contribute to the social development.
