Foreign Tourists Increase by 40 Percent in Pakistan: PTDC
Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation (PTDC) has witnessed a massive spurt of 40 percent in International tourists and foreign mountaineers as compared to the past couple of years. It’s possible due to secure law and order situation in the country. Northern areas of Pakistan have been a key interest for foreign tourists and mountaineers across the globe. PTDC official told that the country will see a boom in tourism industry within upcoming years while talking to APP.
In 2016, the northern areas of the country were the main priority of international tourists, as this area is a paradise for the mountaineers. He told that Gilgit-Baltistan (G-B) was a heaven for the mountaineers to nurture their climbing skills and more of the tourist would be planning to scale high peaks in 2017.
Pakistan is a home to five mountain peaks out of total 14 in the world that are 8,000 meters high. The country is rich in culture with beautiful landscapes that could boost the tourism sector in the country.
