‘Chinese Dream’ of Pakistani Youth: Sidelights on Pakistan Public Welfare Project of CFPD
On the afternoon of September 9th, a 23-year-old Pakistani youth arrived in Xinzheng International Airport in Zhengzhou, Henan province, after a 16-hour long trek to start his one-year Chinese study tour. His name is Ahmed Nasim, from an ordinary Pakistani family.
Nasim first came to China in April 19, 2016. It was a dream trip for him and the Pakistani youth had a strong interest in China. In order to help Nasim to achieve his ‘Chinese dream’, the Foundation, China Overseas Port Holding (Pakistan) Co., Ltd. and Henan University of Technology made various efforts, and finally in September this year, Nasim’s dream came true.

The CMB primary school is funded by the Foundation, the fourth Harbor Engineering Survey and Design Institute Co., Ltd. The school bags were distributed to the students of the first to third-year class. Nasim and staff found that the height difference between the students is differentiating them among each other. Among them, a student’s height is much higher than other students. The inquiry learned that the student is 10 years old, but because there is no school near the village, has not been to school. It is with China and Pakistan primary school, he had the opportunity to go to school.
The construction of CMB primary school started from July 27, 2015 to August 15, 2016. It has successfully completed, with a total of 13 months, but the actual construction period is only 10 months. In the construction process, every day the local villagers crowded near the site, looking forward for the completion of the new school. Hearing the completion of primary schools, neighboring villages, attracted by students, enthusiastically applied for earning education. The actual number of applicants actually reached more than 450 students, far more than the number of the primary design. On September 1, when Prime Minister Sharif visited the school, the Pakistani side accompanied the staff to ask where the children came from. One child proudly said, ‘I am from primary school in China.’
Foundation staff told that the construction of the CMB Primary School and the invitation of the Pakistan Social Governance Training Group to visit China, were only part of the Foundation’s public welfare program in Pakistan. ‘There is still much to be done in the future, and we will continue to strive more, developing our nation and will continue to move forward in prospering our nation.
